VinoGirl Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 What a day! So much great stuff to see. Shows I loved, in particular: Highland Park, Wylie, Summit and Richland. Duncanville is so visually impactful - really enjoyed them too. Quite the day for band in DFW! Quadmom68 and Spitfire78 2 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 Are these the new scoring sheets that will be used for Area and State? Quote
Quadmom68 Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 I'm still probably a newbie to understand the difference between between scoring for BOA and scoring for UIL. Can someone explain it in a nutshell? Quote

Can someone explain it in a nutshell? Expand BOA looks at music and marching but places a big emphasis in the overall show…it’s classified as general effect. The “acting”, the props, the flags are a major part of the judging. UIL is purely marching and music. Judges don’t evaluate the show itself. It’s only how well you march and play the music as a band and individually. Quadmom68 1 Quote

Tubalord11 Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 I was told from my director that Area scoring is having some changes as well, but it may just be what the judges are looking for. Quote
dvillealumni2018 Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 Does anyone have a recording of Duncanville's performance? Quote
