I didn’t see a thread started for this topic yet so I started one. Lots of bands have announced their show themes for the fall so let’s hear it! 

I think this theme for the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders is PERFECT! I can’t wait to see it!

Vista Ridge is continuing on with their plans to do Vorca Rhe. 
 

Leander is continuing with their plans to do Long Strange Trip unless Selaiden misspoke at March-a-thon a few weeks ago. ?

Coppell announced their fall production recently. And evidently the Mandarins/Vista Ridge spinning table will be making a comeback as well. ?

The show is called "Carousel" and features the following music:

I See

Highly complex marching regimen. They are marching a lot more members this year than in recent memory. The arrangements are excellent and the set list is gigantic. The students and staff are really going to be tested.

Ooo, a Seuss-inspired show? I might love this with Flower Mound. Pretty much all their shows the past few years have been inspired by specific artists or art movements, so it's nice to see them step out of their comfort zone, if this is accurate. Also, Seuss is quirky and weird, which is right up my alley. I recall seeing a guard show in the early naughts that was (I think) inspired by Seuss. They performed to Preludes, Fugues, and Riffs by Leonard Bernstein -- a very quirky jazz piece, fittingly. Still remember it after all these years! Well, except for the name of the guard... I wish I could remember that!

Is CTJ performing the song by Paula Abdul? I could see that. ? But (!) I would like to point out that the Paula Abdul lyrics aren't really accurate in their central message. People with opposite personality traits are not typically attracted to each other, according to psychology. It's a LIE, Paula. A LIE! Or maybe psychology is the lie -- I think there's a pretty equal chance here. Anyway, back to CTJ: they're still at the top of my list based on last year's show. I've seen almost nothing from this year, though.

Didn't see it mentioned: TWHS is doing a show called Life Is A Cabaret, featuring music from Chicago and Cabaret. My main reservations: it's the 3rd musical-inspired show in a row from them (room to grow, though), and the music/theme is... too sexy? Not sure how they're going to communicate that. Pre-show and opener is an interestingly arranged, slow-burn build, but maybe a bit too slow and low-energy. It didn't grip me much until the pace picked up at the end, but it's still super early, without props/costumes/etc. I want MOMENTS. Guard seems kind of on fire, though. Large, too. I think I counted 24 rifles in the opening (pre-show) statement.

I would really like to see Pearland. I think they might be Houston's next big thing. They've had a great past couple of years, for sure.

Pandemic may continue to throw a wrench into some groups' plans, unfortunately.

Okay, so maybe Seuss is still considered an artist, on 2nd thought. For some reason I just categorized him in my mind as an author. ?
