Popular Post Origin Posted November 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 7, 2021 THAT LOW BRASS HOLY CRAP! Those woodwind soloists in the opener 😭😭😭 HOW?? Then the whole band does it. It’s gross how good they are. That sax choir is sublime! Mellos in the ballad. Trombones in the closer. My jaw is on the floor. Just HOW?? How do you even learn a show like that. Hebron, I don’t care what happens next, you deserve to win this whole thing! 5 te 6, Alaric and Vidal28 3 Quote

BandFan59 Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Claudia Taylor Johnson is incredible. Phenomenal. Amazing. Absolutely my favorite production of the year and I am amazed at how well they execute a show with this level of demand!!! Quote

Popular Post SomeBandNerd Posted November 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 7, 2021 CTJ was great, but I think Hebron’s show was more challenging and more demanding. Hebron played their hardest material while on the move while CTJ would mostly stand and play. That’s what I noticed from watching these two schools back to back. Hebron marched and played. CTJ tended to stay in one place and play. CTJ did have some hard drill moves, don’t get me wrong, and I loved the uniqueness they brought to the field. I just believe Hebron’s show was a bit harder than theirs musically and visually. I know they will both do very well tonight though!! HeyBandTX, 5 te 6, Parkwoodmom and 5 others 8 Quote
Origin Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Vandegrift has quickly become one of the very best visual bands in the country. I think they fall into the trap of trying to play alot of things as loud as possible. They have absolutely no weaknesses to me though. I can’t get enough of their visual designs. Quote

Pearland was an SA finalist in 2019 and Coppell earned the bronze medal at St. Louis this year. I'm guessing Round Rock was around 15-17 and Johnson maybe around 20-23. Expand Regarding RR and Johnson, I think so too. Quote

BandFan59 Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Vandegrift is such an incredible band. Their music abilities are insane (the echo after the ballad hit was gorgeous) and visually they're executing at such a high level. I think I have them below The Woodlands, Hebron, and CTJ right now but that's no knock on them; the level of bands here tonight is unbelievable. Parkwoodmom 1 Quote

Origin Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Much better performance from Reagan tonight! Their designs are so fresh while keeping that traditional feel. That moment with the guard running with the flags would’ve been cool if we hadn’t already seen it done more effectively in Secret World 😕 . Anyway, the atmosphere they create with basically zero props is unmatched. Awesome performance! Quote
Band2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Reagan great run! Much better than prelims. They love to do alot of section shine! Which means that everyone guard, woodwinds, brass, and percussion will always have their moment! I love reagan been a fan since synergy! ❤ BandMom75 1 Quote
BandFan59 Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Reagan was much improved from their prelims run! Really enjoyed the show even with its similarities to Secret World and thought they performed it incredibly. The color guard at Reagan really is phenomenal. I have them pretty solidly behind the Woodlands, Hebron, CTJ, and Vandegrift, but that was a great run from Reagan nevertheless. Quote

I personally have them in first, but CTJ has incredible GE and the Woodlands were absolutely incredible, and Vandegrift is always dang good. anon54 and alex9809 2 Quote
Origin Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 What an impressive group of finalists. To think we would be back to this level of quality so soon after the pandemic! Congrats to Leander, Rouse, and Cedar Park on a fantastic end to their seasons. Good luck to the other 10 bands (definitely gonna miss TWHS being there) that will be competing at 6A State in a few days! Quote
