2021 BOA Grand Nationals (Nov. 11-13)

Sad to see CTJ in the bottom six of finals. I think this is the strongest show they've taken to nationals and was really pulling for them to grab a medal here. It looks like Team Texas may be coming home without a medal this year, but Flower Mound's performance time puts them in a great spot to potentially sneak into the top 3.

Super proud alum of vista ridge. Wasn't really a big fan of the design this year but the level of execution has been nuts, not to mention they're literally writing program history. Congrats all and best of luck in finals!

Personally, watching earlier versions of the shows, I'm going to guess that at least 2nd to 5th place are reasonably close to each other score-wise. There's a possibility of some "upsets", if you can call them that. I guess we already got one with Dobyns-Bennett beating Blue Springs, but the gap in performance times in semis between those two was significant.

My biggest shock is DB… my friend and I saw this show live and although they are very good, we felt board the whole time. Obviously the judges don’t judge on that, but Round Rock was way better In our opinion, but still happy for them. Good luck to everyone tonight! Bring us back Kevin!

Marcus overcame a nearly 3 point gap to top CTJ (and maybe The Woodlands, too) to break the top 6 at Nats after semis. Only one week difference. Another clear example of why you can't really predict Nats using San Antonio placements. It ain't over 'til it's over!

I chuckled a little at one moment of Reagan’s show - which other program can have the band clear the field and let the color guard have a moment?! Such a cool thing that is quite unique to their program!

I love the direction Dobyns-Bennett has gone in this year. The show kindof reminds me of Round Rock 2015. Visually the show is stunning!! I love the striking colors. Compared to Reagan, the brass is noticeably crass, but they’re playing with so much emotion! The choir is a perfect choice…it just adds the right emotion. Beautiful show.

The choral moments in Dobyns-Bennett's show were brilliant. Loved the ending with the entire band singing together! Great show!

Vista Ridge’s show is so beautifully cinematic. Congrats on making finals on your first appearance!!

Excellent performance by Vista Ridge. The brass was absolutely fantastic the entire show and I love the commitment of every member to the show! The guard does need a bit more development but Vista Ridge will be a mainstay in the BOA world for years to come.

Vista’s show this year certainly did have balls.  And blue ones at that.  

Joking aside, I that seemed like their best run in weeks.  I hope to keep seeing them.

Mason sounds so good! The guard is awesome too. The uniforms can make the drill look muddy, but the show has really grown on me.

Great show from Mason! Lux Aurumque is a fantastic piece and they played it beautifully. Excellent performance from the woodwinds throughout the whole show too! Unfortunately those uniforms really don't work well with the field and hurt the visual design for me.

I’m rarely ever a fan of vocal soloists in marching shows, but CTJ’s singer was great.

CTJ's ending has to be one of my favorites of the season! Love the vocalist throughout the entire show and the massive hit at the end was spectacular! Love this show and am willing it to break into the top half!!!

I get big DCI vibes from Blue Springs. Maybe it’s the uniforms. They march really really well. Guard is fantastic. I though it was an interesting choice to have the brass all the way near the end zone for the first hit…
