Broken Arrow this year though is looking incredible, the best they've looked since 2016. To see those two go up against each other like in 2015 would be magnificent. Vidal28 1 Quote

Popular Post contrabassclarinet Posted November 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2021 Pearland and Seven Lakes were truly great this year. It’s a real shame we didn’t have any Houston bands in finals this year, especially with just how close they were. Cypress Woods in 29th feels absurdly low. Like, I understand no finals- there are tons of excellent programs here. But a 29th placement is contrary to everything displayed by the program this year. Jersey Village and Bridgeland felt a little low as well, but not as upsetting as Woods. Fez76, adammac46, bright_bear and 1 other 4 Quote

BandFan59 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Flower Mound's music scores are a bit concerning right now. Really hope they're able to fine tune them with another run in the Alamodome before they head to Indianapolis. LeanderMomma 1 Quote

Expand I can’t imagine hearing this much positivity about Hebron’s potential just several weeks ago, just proves how much things can change when you get to show everyone why you’re one of the CONSISTENT top performing marching bands in the state and in the country, along with the marvelous musical capabilities that are fairly unrivaled in the activity, trying to phrase it as humbly as I can, hopefully I did that. I think it’s just a matter of embracing and not taking for granted what they bring to the table for all of us that get the opportunity to watch them, as I know I always do when I see them, I just take it all in😊 LeanderMomma 1 Quote

Expand That’s pretty much what I’m getting at. I’m personally already on board with anything I see from them, and I got to see them early hs football season EARLY, and they were already so good only seeing like 3 minutes of the show at that point😂 and also then a month later seeing them at BOA DFW always taking my place right up close just to the right of the 50, fully expecting to be blown away and still walking away amazed, for me the night was won by them, even then but the scores said otherwise. I think the direction that the students get at Hebron isn’t often discussed either, the students always are on the ball, focused and prepared, and it shows, always seeming like they make the challenge even more difficult every year when we’re all thinking, how does a high school do this? To begin with😂 Quote

He expects a high level of commitment, musicianship, and personal responsibility from his students all while making band an enjoyable experience. Popular Post LoudBaritone Posted November 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2021 I honestly just got into this stuff and I was really impressed with The Woodlands College Park this year especially after the rough 2 years they've had. I really liked there trumpet soloist he was pretty good. In the rankings they were ranked pretty high in the visual ensemble (13th and 14th) which is pretty interesting since I do not remember them as a visual ensemble band I see them more as a band who can throw it down on music. Anyone else find CP really interesting this year and possibly see them as a band to watch out for in the coming years? HeartOfTexas, BrassMomof2 and Parkwoodmom 3 Quote
Rubisco Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Also, just dropping in to say: regardless of what happens here at UIL 6A State, don't take it to mean that's probably where the bands going to Nationals will land later this week.
