BandFan59 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 It would be great for Westlake to make finals after those electronics issues they had at San Antonio. Being the first band out by 0.1 points must have been hard on the students there. Quote
Minimaster Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 CTJ isn’t messing around today. Tons of energy. Quote

Kian Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 What is CTJ even trying to convey any more, the show has become way too scrambled throughout the season and doesn't flow at all. Wonder if they will change it up in finals. CelesteKara and BandDad4 2 Quote

But playing it in November... That resonated with the crowd. Also, it is unseasonably cold in San Antonio right now (for San Antonio that is) Quote

Tuning is an easy fix, but the kids are super spread out across the field the entire show and they’re juggling tons of responsibilities. Unless they had booked time at The Star or Jerry World, it’s also their first Dome performance of the season while all of their competition has had two runs already. However, the show itself is incredible. And the biggest difference from Vitrify is that the kids are bought in and performing. I think that’ll take them a long way this week. Medal is far far FAR from out of the question tomorrow and Saturday. and the outro SLAYED me. Expand I would feel the same about the tuning ‘cause FloMo has such quality performers, but that ensemble tuning I feel has been off a bit all year, it hasn’t seemed to have hurt them in competitions so far, but I imagine in state finals and grand nats, that could push them out of winning the necessary music caption, to a lower than expected caption placement. It’s just my inclination from how I’ve heard their performance progress over the season. Quote
SanAntonio_Jo Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Are finals random? Or top 6 / bottom 6 like boa sa? Quote

Which is a shame because their show design is phenomenal and historically there are very few bands that can match them musically. I just think they are struggling with blend and intonation a bit more than usual. Still a phenomenal production that I expect to be in contention at Nationals, but they need to solidify their tuning to win imo. Quote
