thesnareguy Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Yep. i love 03, 00, 01,02 and 05. very close picks. i choose 2003 though. Quote
mbui Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 My personal favorite is 2000. The music and drill complimented each other so well. You hear what you see and you see what you hear. It was just an all-around great show. Quote
EODrillDesigner98 Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 My most favorite show from Cavaliers are as follow: 1995-1997 2005 2000-02 1990 1993 Quote
Fortisimo Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I like Niagra the best... it's got a lot of variety, cool riffs, nice chord progressions, and excellent use of pit SFX. The drill is excellent as well, and it matches what the music conveys quite well in addition to being interesting to watch. Quote
CHS King Mello Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 to tell you the truth, I haven't like a Cavies show since 2000. From what I hear, 2006 is supposed to be amazing... dark music, and good drill in the works. -C Quote
Xukaniz Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 1. 2002 - Frameworks 2. 2004 - 007 3. 1995 - The Planets 4. 2000 - Niagra Falls Havent heard others, but we will see. Quote
CHS King Mello Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 actually, I think 1991 should be on the list... Cavaliers Anthems, Advent Collection. Go to google video... they have it there. Had Star not been amazing that year, they would have dominated. probably in my top 10 favorite shows of all time. -C Quote
Skippy Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Cavies 91 was great. Random fact: The tuba slamming his horns down at the very end (with the HUGE glasses) is Dean Westman, educational director of BOA. Quote
bariphonium Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Kind of a slow horn-pop..... Nevertheless, I'd go with 2002. It's not just the famous 99.150 that sticks with it, but I just like the show. The drill, the music... I just like it. Quote
Amusicman Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 91 is an awsome show. My favorite of the 00's is definatly Frameworks though, the show is so seamless. Quote
CHS King Mello Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I would have loced 02, had the music not been... well the music that was written. I think in order to have a completely succesful drum corps show, you have to have music that can stand on its own. Meaning, if the Cavies would have played in a horn arc, it would have been nearly as entertaining as if they were doing the entire show. I dont think any show in the 2000's (excluding 00) has done that for me, but ecspecially 02. They played it very well, but the music IMO, was just boring. It was very well incorporated with the show... the show was near flawless when it came to design, and they played it to near perfection (with the exception of the 3rd place drumline) -C Quote
Xukaniz Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I always enjoyed listening to Cavies 02. Its #1 on my list. Quote
Amusicman Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 98 is awsome as well. Machine was just amazing Quote
FrontierVP Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Cavies '87 was my first live drum corps experience, so it's up there. Korean Folk Song is an important piece in the Cavies rep. '95 I also saw live (standstill) and it blew me away. My brother still thanks me for taking him to that show. '02 I saw live and loved it from the start, but I loved the show and the performance even more after I got the DVD. Quote
FrontierDirector Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I voted for Cavies 00 since my favorites weren't listed 04 would be a close 2nd on this list 1990 just blew me away when I saw it, and 91/89/87 were all very powerful. I love the new drill concepts of the last few Cavalier editions, but I do miss the early 90s/late 80s MUSICAL style Quote

stewiemylove Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 i cant vote planets, 007 and niagra falls were all so cool Quote
Aegis Fang Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I must say I love the Cavies 2005 music, although quite a few may disagree with me. But their rendition of The Planets is by far the coolest music I've ever heard. 1995 all the way =) Especially that little circle thing at the end, that just rocked =p Quote
hhsquadguy Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 2001......gotta love the opener in 7/8. Quote

I like the Cavies 05 show (2nd favorite of the 2000's) but I certainly dont think the music was great. same goes for what I said about Cavies 02... if they played that show in a standstill, it wouldn't be able to stand on its own. -C Quote

Dang... there wasn't much visual to that, it was all music. And I liked the 2002 music... not as much as 2005 though. I still like 95 the best =) Quote
springbassliner26 Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I definitely like the Niagra Falls show the best. Great music, great drill, great show. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I agree; it all works very well together. Quote
