5A AREA G Marching Contest 2021

4 days out from the Area G marching contest! Really excited to see who makes it to state. The competitive nature of valley bands always gets me amped up. ESPECIALLY state years! Predictions and thoughts?

For the first time, this is gonna be more competitive than 6A area. Let alone how much bigger this competition has gotten, these programs are hungry for success after two (four for one band specifically 😮) unfortunate years. With ~28 bands competing, the fight for finals is gonna be insane; with the bottom half of finalists being especially hard to predict. 

Time to make state finals, kiddos 😎

Roma should be safely getting the state qualifier spot they deserve.

A lock for State for me in no order are Pioneer, Roma, Rio Grande City, and Sharyland. It’s that 5th spot that is going to be a tough battle between the other 6 bands in finals. I completely agree with the statement that this is the most competitive area G has been in a while! It’s gonna be fun!
