I worked as a visual tech for Keenedale for two weeks back in 08 starting mid season.

The Director didn’t have them doing basics block or a real warmup to start practice.

He told be that this is 3A and not 5A and he just wanted me to help add GE moments and they don’t need to do what the big programs do.

They ended up down near the bottom at State (Apparently you could sleepwalk into State back then.)

While Argyle HS won State with their version of 5A LD Bell’s 2001 show.

He either didn’t want to compete with Argyle or didn’t know how to. 

To me it seemed like he just didn’t care enough to anything but the bare minimum.

Just realized that Wills Point, Burnet, nor Fredericksburg made finals tonight. When’s the last time Wills Point missed State Finals?

Argyle is now the most winningest band program in Texas with 8 State championships

in 2018 they placed 16th.

Gotcha! Hadn’t been keeping up with the 4As in a few years. I remember Wills Point having a streak of Finals appearances.

ooo I recommend keeping up with the 4A's. They are getting better every year as with every conference is.

BTW, Lake Belton made history tonight. Well, they tied for it which is making state finals in the 2nd year of existence. They share that now with Lake Ridge 2013. Funny how the 2 schools that hold this, has the same first name.

They also made state in the first year of their existence! In a Covid year!

yeah I know. With everything that happened last year, there was no prelims, just Finals so technically you could say Lake Belton made State finals on their debut year but Its confusing with how it all went down.

And they did this with only freshmen and sophomores in their band in 2020. Let that sink in.

Lake Belton did an amazing job considering they have no Seniors on the field! Not one senior!!! This program is going places.
