this is my first time seeing a 1a band in person, and oh my goodness, they were amazing! a lot of them were quiet compared to bigger bands, which makes sense, but they sounded great, and there were a few bands which, had i not seen their size, i would have thought they were 4 or 5a from how they sounded. very proud of these programs!

I wish I could have stayed in San Antonio to watch the 1A and 3A finals but I’m staying with a friend in Leander until Thursday, and it’s a two hour commute back and forth. 🥺

All of the finalists were outstanding!  Menard was on fire tonight!  That mello solo was beautiful.

I loved every second of that performance and could tell the director was so excited!

Super impressed by Menard - thanks for the video!  What a lovely, relaxed ensemble sound from them and really really great dynamic contrasts and shaping of phrases. Wow!
