One of my best friends made it though, so it's all good. BTW, are there any schools that have other than senior DMs? haha yea we "now" have a sophmore drum major but thats a long story there so....lol Quote

Danpod ran up to me outta nowhere and greeted me. I was like "huh? what da..." and he gave me a McDonald's arch card that I was EXTREMELY happy to receive (until I found out it had only 5 dollars on it and i still had to pay). but that's tight...im glad i was noticed. the_n00b_trombonist Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I wanted to be a drum major for about an hour before remembering that I wouldn't get to play the show if I was one... Regardless, having your name called out on the speaker would be pretty cool. Quote
smoke_dawg_08 Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO DRUM MAJORS!!!!!!!!!! Quote
__HBK__ Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 i guess it would be kinda cool to be a drum major.... but there would be sooo much work(even though you wouldn't have to march). Quote
titancoaster Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I tried out for this year, but didnt make it (two seniors did) but my directors said I was very close, and do to an injury I had last week, I was unable to march at area, so my directors had me field conduct during the show, so now that Ive had a taste of being drum major I want it even more, and everybody in my band has come up to me and said they really want to see me as drum major, so I am thinking I have a really good shot for next year. TRtrumpet Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 It's deffinelty alot of work, and I have a small band. I bet you bigger band DM's have alot more work. But regardless, in my opinion it's way worth it. Go drum majors. Quote
GenericWit Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 I'd love to see a brass player as drum major in my school. This year, we have three clarinet drum majors. But onto topic... I'll see if I want to try out for drum major for next year. I mean, most people come into high school band wanting to be one, but I've been put under so much pressure as a section leader (some of it self-done) that I'm scared of drum major pressure. Plus, I'd probably miss marching too much. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I'm going to miss it alot when I have to direct the whole show next year... Quote
titancoaster Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 so we had DM tryouts today, and I got in, and we added a third for the first time in seven years, but im so happy right now!!!!! Quote
the terminator Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 we found out our 3rd drum major today, it's a pretty cool soph. flute player. she definately was the best that tried out, I'm quite happy for her she's going to be great for the next 3 years Quote

Our judge tryout is on the 13th, and our student tryout is on the 20th; we find out on the 28th. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I didn't try out for next year since it's my senior year. But being one this year was great. Quote
