Aegis Fang Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Does anyone know if they still rent out Dancer in the Dark at Blockbuster or something? I never have gotten a chance to look. Quote

But yeah I can tell the difference between a drum corps and a marching band. Though I regretfully have never experienced a live drum corps. ::blinks:: that is a must... seriously. You have never truly experianced drum corps without actually seeing it live. effing amazing. -C Quote

Fortisimo Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I can understand amps and prehaps miced solos for woodwinds, but brass soloists should buck up and just play loud enough. Oh, and synthesizers.... people just go overboard with them, and they are purely enlectronic; i'm not so sure they should be allowed. It is way to wasy to use synths to give artificial meat to chords if your band/corp is falling down on the job; I mean, you want it louder? Crank it up. You want it on a lower octave? Just push a different key. Breathing? Not an issue. Sorta like pit; except, it is unlimited in volume and power. Doesn't sound much like marching band to me, but w/e. Quote
CHS King Mello Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 actually, there hasn't been a corps who has mic'd up brass players. interference with pit amplification could cause a little of it, but nothing intentional. still makes me wish amps weren't in drum corps. -C Quote
