TRtrumpet Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I watched it some of it. I saw it all the way up to when Allen played them my mom made me go rake leaves. lol. Quote
sax5warrior Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 i was unpacking when i heard a horrendous band brassy sound, it was the parade. Wasted my time though, some of those bands were awful sounding, but it was raining so yea. But i did see the Texas Longhorn Marching Band. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Aww crap I didnt get to see them! Yea I heard some... realy bad brassy sounds too... Quote
sax5warrior Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 i was watching the spanish braodcast since my ma left that channel on, the announcer said to one band which was so awful "the best band hes ever seen" Last time i checked the Tournament of Roses parade were only for the best of the best bands.... TRtrumpet Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Those announcers dont know a thing about band, they just talk like they do. lol, which band was it? How do they pick bands for that anyway? Quote
sax5warrior Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 dont even remember but the majority of the bands there sounded horrible...didnt see the Allen band though, shame o btw, they have a committee and they choose a band thats from that region for example, Texas is in the Southwest region and so on. Fill out an entry form and they look at your past accomplishments in contests and etc. At least thats wut i heard from my band director when his former band ,Katy, went in '97 or '98 Quote
TRtrumpet Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Our band would never be able to go, lol. Even if we did do good enough, no one would hear us! Quote
Xukaniz Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Yeah it was loud and brassy, but I sure as heck liked it! Quote
TRtrumpet Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 There was one band toward the beginning that had some freaking loud picc's. There were louder than the trumpets. Quote
