Going to State?????

Ok...so i did the easy way out and did english horn but I busted my butt and made first. I later taped myself and am waiting to see if I made it to State!!! How did everybody else do at Area auditions????

Tyler, a percussionist from my old school, was fitfth and they took four. I told him it was no shame, he lost to three kids from langham creek and one from reagan.

apparently our top french horn player got 2nd in 5A state. Which amuses me to no end, because her sophomore brother got last place at district tryouts

you all should be proud, no matter if you didnt or did made state, a LOT of people (like me) would like to be in your shoes right now, enjoy the accomplishment because bunches of people dont even get to experince that in their 4 years of High school when they really want to

We had three people (clarinet, bassoon and oboe) who made it to area, and the clarinet and bassoon players made 5A All-State. I forgot what chairs, though.

6 people total... 2 5A and 4 4A

 

oboe and flute player made 5A

alto sax, two clarinets, trumpet made 4A

I made...7th at area, which is terrible, considering a guy I'm sitting above at region made 2nd. But I was the only sophomore tuba, so hey! Looking forward to next year. My band director thinks I'm crazy since I started in 8th grade anyway, meh. We had an amazing sax make it though, a lot of you know who I'm talking about.

The Duncanville and Coppell clarinets cleaned up at area again. Geez!!! Duncanville had four B flats and Coppell had three and Martin had two. Last year Duncanville had the same four make it and that is wild. Ug!!! They are awesome. Maybe next year. Boo hoo

We had 6 total make it I think.

 

1 Bassoon, 3 Clarinets, 1 Piccolo, and 1 Alto Sax.

I came in 1st at area and made it!!!!!!! I'm very excited if you can't tell.

 

We also had a bassoon, horn, bari sax, and euphonium.

We had 3 of our members make state (one of the was a freshman!!) and a lot of them were only 1 chair away. I'd hate to be only one chair away. For me, that'd be the ultimate disappointment.
