Location confirmed at Childress Health Stadium in Prosper! This is going to be a great new location for this and future BOA events! Having performed here many times, I can say there is plenty space for bands and spectators. Parking can be confusing Especially when it gets packed like it most likely will be this day, so get there early if you don’t want to deal with traffic, but hopefully it’s not that bad! Great stadium overall for this event!

I can't wait to see how Melissa does against some of the other amazing groups! First year as a 5A and first official year competing in a BOA contest! I Don't believe they will make finals based on the other groups that will be there, but if they did, it would be at the bottom of the pack.

No westlske or Carrol? No disrespect to The Colony, Berkner or Richardson, but I really don’t think they have a good chance based off last year and the competition, but i guess anything can happen.

Not to mention Westwood, Owasso, Keller Central, Forney, maybe even Rock Hill... this is a pretty deep contest.  Also, Grapevine had a great showing last week so can't forget about them.

 Westlake and Westwood aren't  missing finals.

Is it correct to assume Westlake is the favorite to win this? I haven’t seen Carroll this year so maybe they could contest based on last years results. Otherwise Westlake looked far ahead of Westwood in Austin and unless some out of state band is really good I don’t think anyone else is close.

Never a good idea to sleep on Wakeland. There's an early video out there from a halftime performance in late August and they already sounded GOOOOOOOOOD. Would love to see a more recent performance, of course, but I think they could be in contention for a medal here.

My band pet peeve is when someone makes a post praising a program and then someone butts in with a “Don’T SlEEp oN” because it doesn’t explicitly mention another program.

Westwood comes out meh at BOA Austin, then rises through October.  They have Vista Ridge this weekend. I anticipate that they will have their full show on the field by the end of this week. 

This should be a great contest. Here's hoping for tons of success for Westlake and Westwood.

Except the OP wasn't just praising a program. They brought up whether or not Westlake was the favorite to win and mentioned some other programs that could challenge. @yayband914 replied with another band to watch out for. No need to be peeved in this situation.
