I wouldn't say they were bad, but they were quite dirty compared to several other bands. Good thing is it appears they have their whole show on the field, so all they need to do now is clean clean clean.

Interesting stat: This is the first time Flower Mound has not taken 1st in Class 4A at the BOA DFW contest prelims since 2014.

another fun fact, apparently FM wasn't nearly as off their game in prelims as ppl were predicting in other threads. funny how that worked out.

happy for Hebron. watching older vids i'd have them in 1st via mus perf, mus GE. i just find the music very enjoyable from start to finish, moreso than last year's show.

Personally, in my opinion, as somebody who’s judged in the Alamodome, I feel as if Wakelands show envokes passion. You also feel the energy from the stands. I feel like Wakeland has a good chance at getting top 3 with their explosive show. The other bands can’t match the way the Wakeland Band performs.

Very limited info for many on both groups to be fair, first I saw of Hebron was today in the stands, and they no doubt deserved their placement in prelims. I expect finals to be no different

i guess i don't view a beautiful high cam video of FM a week before the contest as limited info. but i've been doing this for over 20 years, so maybe the experience helps.

Oh i don’t mean from today, but before then! Many of us hadn’t seen a high cam with good audio behind it. From the ground and up top for me, Hebron’s quality of performance shines through for me to where I don’t think Flower Mound should beat them, personally, despite their elaborate and unique visual concept

In his defense, not everyone may have seen that video.  But yes, I was also a little confused by what people were saying about Flower Mound's show. Maybe not quite as colorful as usual, but it seemed pretty standard besides that. It'll be interesting to see where they all end up after finals. I'm wondering about Wakeland in particular, since they're in a different class.

There's a high cam from before today's contest. It's part of the recording of the Wylie finals stream, I believe. It's worth a watch!

Just want to hop on and say HP is feeling pretty OK about finishing third in AAA. First BOA ever, full director change over the summer, having a band parent pass away unexpectedly last Sunday…it’s been a lot and the kids have pushed ahead. 
 

Lots of polishing to do but I think they played well today, the soloists did well, and it was a great experience. Back to work on Monday!
