Tubalord11 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Hebron: Odyssey FM: one word: WOW!!!!! Guys I don’t see them not winning this!!!! They are so freaking clean, and this is probably their hardest musical book yet(yes harder than last years)!!!! I don’t really get the theme but they are just already so freaking good! They might be back to back 6A champions, but holy crap!!!! So beautiful, just beautiful!!! DrumLine and Vidal28 2 Quote
Popular Post Origin Posted October 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2022 Hebron, that was disgusting (in a good way of course). The simultaneous musical AND visual demand is insaneeeeee. Interesting juxtaposition of themes, ocean waves and sound waves I guess. The show is quite upbeat and at times poppy, which I actually found very enjoyable. Going after Marcus, it was obviously nowhere near as clean (and it shouldn’t be). peshbandkid, Dave609, Tubalord11 and 1 other 4 Quote
BandFan59 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Have to say this is easily Hebron's most challenging show visually and musically. The demand is off the charts but they're doing a good job taking it on. Love their saxophone soloists again and I really enjoy the more upbeat theme and music they're going with this year. Definitely had a tag ending, so they clearly aren't done adding. I'm excited to see how the show progresses! Tubalord11 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Trinity-Red Edge: great program!!! They had some really good and controlled ensemble sound, and a very interring visual program. We may see this in finals? They had a really great run imo, but I’m no judge, but overall a very great show!!! slowbrass and Dave609 2 Quote
peshbandkid Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Wow Trinity! That sound was just great! If I had the ability to, this show would be on the verge of finals! Dave609 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Lone Star-Primal: WHAT WAS THAT?!?!? That is the best LoneStar band I’ve ever heard!!! These kids are just placing the character of the show so well!!!! I honestly think they did better than Wakeland over all!!! I mean that was just incredible!!! I’m losing it right now! peshbandkid Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Lone Star left me speechless. That was HOT Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 James Martin: sit down stand up: so I guess they are doing the same show as prosper??? It was very good and had lots of great musical moments. Loved the tuba solo!!! Some dirt visually but a great performance! Quote

When I was watching James Martin I kept thinking that I've definitely seen this show already this year even though this is my first time watching James Martin. That must be it. Quote
lost Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 That’s a little odd. Did they purchase the design from the same person? Quote

Wakeland moved a lot while Lone Star barely went behind the front hash. they sounded great i'll admit, but visually i don't think they'll be as clean as Wakeland this season. while they do have a bigger program going for them, i think Wakeland has better moments overall when they're playing in place. both groups have things they need to work on, but overall ill have to give it to Wakeland by a long shot, especially since their show is definitely more physically challenging Origin, Niceone, Atomic3308 and 1 other 4 Quote

GeekBoy54 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 No but for real, does anyone have a video of Hebron? Can't find them anywhere and I still have yet to see their show. Quote
Origin Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Interesting direction for Waxahachie. I’m never the biggest fan of flat rectangle props. The Eiffel Tower stage is really cool though. Very cute show. As usual, they sound great. I think the whole show is on the field? If so, they’re wayyyy ahead of where they were last year. Quote
peshbandkid Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 What a beautiful showing from Waxahachie! Very luscious sound and a good amount of drill for them. They look well ahead of the curve from last season! Quote

Origin Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Keller still appears to be using placeholder tarps/props? They sound amazingggg at times, but I’m distracted by the hodge-podgeness of the visual design. Trombones 🔥🔥. They are definitely trying a different approach by having the whole show out there. Quote
BandFan59 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 The bicycle sets at the beginning is definitely a cool moment during Keller's show. Musically they sound good as they always have, and it was a solid performance overall but I think they can get a better run tonight. Quote
MikeKyu Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 This is a gorgeous show by Southlake Carroll. I love how they split the field in the 2nd movement. And what's to not like about a company front ending Quote
Origin Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Carroll has gone all out with the theming, wow. Its a lot, maybe a bit much for me. This show is AMBITIOUS. And also dirtyyy. Luckily, the entire show is on the field and they have tons of time to clean. Quote
BandFan59 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 That's a fairly demanding show from Southlake Carroll. Really like the aesthetic they're going with this year, but there is quite a bit of dirt both musically and visually right now. If they can get that cleaned up though then I think they have a good shot at finals in Indianapolis. Quote
