SLC has stepped up the theming 100%! At first I worried if it was too much, but I think they made all the props and tarps work well visually!

Rock Hill was fun, could definitely be in the conversation for finals.

Rock Hill. The Mad Hatter show is not only cute but reinforcing my belief that the slide whistle needs more prominence in the contest marching band world. This show should clean up nicely and they are looking wonderful for a 2nd year band.

Timber Creek! Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they pushed for top half here. Not the craziest or most demanding program, but it’s just super solid.

LD Bell was solid! I know they’re with a new designer, but it still felt very in line with what they’ve done these past few years. Visually, pretty compelling with all the butterflies and big guard. The Symphonic Metamorphosis arrangement didn’t totally excite me, and there were some thinner moments musically.

LD Bell. Visually a great show. I think some of the performers put too much pressure on themselves and overplayed a little more than they wanted to. They marched well. They sound great when they  focused in and weren't overplaying. I am willing to bet they will not have that issue this evening.

Decent performance from LD Bell, but there were some uncharacteristically splatty moments from the brass. Really liked their woodwinds though and the aesthetics are very pleasing to look at. Hope to see a better run from them tonight.

Specifically, the very end of the Symphonic Metamorphosis when they play all together on the move. Some stick outs/unsupported sounds. Nothing uncleanable, that piece is hard!

They just changed the brass parts in that moment after their heb exhibition so it’s still pretty fresh.

Lebanon Trail no longer surprises me. They have earned a standard level of expectation. I love that organization.

A solid performance from Coppell. That opener is super demanding. Love the ballad, great saxophone soloist and excellent sounds as a full ensemble. Definitely still a bit of dirt, and maybe a tear or two in the opener, but it should be good enough for the top half. I'm expecting a better run from them tonight.

Coppell! Those woodwind runs, ughhh so good! Crazy field coverage on that opening hit. The ballad is very sweet. The woodwinds are amazingggg. Closer was obviously added recently. Not totally in love with the musical selection in the closer yet. Can’t get over how good their woodwinds are.

WOW!!! Flower Mound KILLED it!

Wow, I gotta admit I'm liking Flower Mound's show a lot more after watching them in prelims. Visually the uniforms look really neat with the Superman style capes and the artwork for the comic book is really well done. While Hebron may have them beat in terms of difficulty, Flower Mound is just extraordinarily clean both musically and visually. I especially enjoyed the ending when all of the comic book panels are revealed and the band spreads out across the front field. Great performance!

Flower Mound is cleeeeean. This week on Instagram they’ve been showing everything that went into the design of this show, and it’s been really cool to see! I love the tango part. The color guard director change appears to have gone completely seamlessly. I think they have even more room to add more personality and life to certain parts of the show. Overall really really enjoyable show!

Shoutout to Flower Mound for having a uniform with capes that doesn't muddy the visual or look too busy. Very impressive.

WOW FLOMO!!! That was not the show last week at WMI!!! They added so much, and it’s soooo freaking cool!!!! This is gonna be another fan favorite!!! It’s gonna be so close tonight! Everyone if sounding fabulous!!!
