Rubisco Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Surprisingly enough, I'll be here tonight for the last half of finals. I'm in town visiting my stupid brothers in Sugarland. I'm at a Starbucks trying to charge my phone, but I should be heading up soon. I'm excited to see a couple friends I haven't seen in a long, long time, one of whom teaches at a delightful middle school band program south of Houston! Not sure where they're sitting. Come say hi! All 4 of you who know me! I'm wearing a white dress shirt with a floral pattern -- kind of like leaves -- white shorts, and a dark blue watch. (I'm trying here.) Ask for George! Or Rubisco! Whatever! Quote
Rubisco Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I'm also excited because this is my first live band event in quite a while. I've missed it! WoodlandsMom4ever and JMR2022 2 Quote

vacon3` Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Klein Oak has really been on the rise, but I was surprised to see the color guard in t-shirts. Wondering if that has an effect on the score? Quote
mountainlympus Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 i love that cy-fair show. the uniforms with the matte backdrops is so cool and effective. hide and seek works so well. vacon3` 1 Quote
Origin Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I kindof have no idea what TWHS’ show is supposed to be about, but I don’t really care because the music is so dang enjoyable and the guard is spectacular. Also, it’s kinda iconic that they’ve been using those tiered stages for like 6 years straight. vacon3` 1 Quote
vacon3` Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 So happy to see the Woodlands and Pearland doing so well after big staff shakeups. And Is it just me, or is everyone performing much better tonight at finals? Im so impressed with the level of polish at this early point of the season these bands are bringing. Krissy J 1 Quote

Waywey Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Austin missed out on finals by .5 to Dawson, looked like they had technical issues and missing tarps for the props. And no surprised to see groups such as Woodlands and Pearland be up there in finals so great work from them and Cy-Fair was really amazing Quote
