Samuel Culper Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I'm proud of Vista. 4th against this field when they had the re-learn part 3 of their show this week. Amazing. gregorydf01 and LeanderMomma 2 Quote

And no surprised to see groups such as Woodlands and Pearland be up there in finals so great work from them BOA N Houston thread is over there -----> Quote

I love when people try to illegitimize the performances of thousands of teenagers because their personal ranking of the bands was different than the judges panel. This happens every year on these forums and it disgusts me FaultLineBlues and Miyazuu 2 Quote

That's a tad dramatic. This show must have been amazing to watch live! Josegjr, GeekBoy54 and LeanderMomma 3 Quote

How is that illegitimizing their performance or the other bands? Please tell me. Quote
hennybandboy Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 really fun preforming and watching the shows yesterday! I personally would like to see round rock and rouse swapped. Quote

So the next step is the blame the judges, despite the fact all the other bands moved placements 0-3 spots max (arguably normal) while Leander was the only one who dropped outside of that. Hendrickson: 12th -> 9th (+3) Leander 7th -> 12th (-5) Westwood 10th -> 10th (Same) Bowie 9th -> 8th (+1) Westlake 8th -> 7th (+1) Lake Travis 11th -> 11th (Same Round Rock 4th -> 6th (+2) Cedar Park 3rd -> 3rd (Same) Rouse 6th -> 5th (+1) Cedar Ridge 3rd -> 2nd (+1) Vandy 1st -> 1st (Same) Vista Ridge 5th -> 4th (-1) Edit: All bands did fantastic, and I'm eagerly looking forward to what the season has to offer (especially with some of our climbing contenders such as RR and CR) but dissing the judges and in part the band placements because your band did not end up where you wanted is not right. Popular Post DallasFan Posted September 25, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 25, 2022 The moment you let yourself understand that this activity is a completely subjective art and at the end of the day these results do not matter as long as these young adults are learning, growing, and creating great memories. That's all that truly matters. On a side note, so good to see full retreat back for BOA events. Breaking ranks and seeing everyone mingle is always so heart warming to see! Exactly this, during the Box5 steam prior to prelims results the camera was focused on the line of drum majors. It's amazing to realize these performers are simply kids with responsibilities and lives outside of this yet they work so hard for what they do and make the activity so fun. I'm so proud of the progress some of the bands have made and it's only the first competition for some. Additionally, a lot of members of bands read these posts and see what adults are saying and it tends to be hurtful or aggrevating to feel like your placement wasn't fair. My partner and I were those same kids just a few years back so we know the trend continues. Competitiveness has it's place on the field, not an on online fourm with grown adults to be arguing about rankings or unfair judgement. WoodlandsMom4ever, Marchingbandperson and Malletmom23 3 Quote
