Schedules are disseminated to directors approximately four weeks before each respective contest, and these are usually not posted on BOA's website until about a week or two before. Quote

Reigning champions have the option to choose their performance time, but aren’t automatically allotted last. Most happen do happen to choose the last slot though. BaritoneBallah 1 Quote

TRBbaritone Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I’m very biased because I teach at a high school in Northside ISD but I’m rooting for Brandeis to take the gold again this year. I’m also rooting for OC as well. Quote
Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted September 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 17, 2022 Good morning everyone!!! Today is the day! Best of luck to all the bands here and those over in New Mexico today! Go show them why Texas is THE High school marching band state! MikeKyu, SoundOff and Josegjr 3 Quote
SoundOff Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 I am actually EXTREMELY impressed with JBA’s performance this year as well. For early season, the high brass articulations, the way the low woodwinds are cutting through the woodwind Rocky Point feature, flute intonation in Saturn, Alto Sax soloist, colorguard, the absolute MONSTER trombone quartet. AMAZING! Not to mention the very mellow Tupac Shakur intro! The very high energy intro impact in a condensed triangle is reminiscent of Hebron 2021! Josegjr 1 Quote
MikeKyu Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Each year since about 2017 I've loved JBA's shows. Design, concept, arrangement, and musical selection all do it for me. This year's show is no different. I always root for them a little more than other bands. They are always one of my underdog picks. Josegjr 1 Quote

thorn_mont969 Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 If I'm understanding this correctly, five of the finalists bands are AA? All the AA bands that placed advanced, with Pioneer and Hidalgo, neither of which placed in top 3 of their respective class, but still advanced to finals. Quote
