On the TMEA website, Coppell, Keller, Keller Central, and Lake Ridge are listed as advancing to State Prelims. Anyone know if this is a mistake or true?

It is true. I don’t know why or what changed however.

Can someone post the 6A programs?

Here are the main pieces for some of the finalists:

CTJ and Coppell - HIndemith Symphony for Band

Hebron - Dahl Sinfonietta

Flower Mound - Copland Symphony #3

You can see Flower Mound and Coppell playing their programs on the youtube channel "Calvin Ku"

For full concert programs from all 10 bands, just go to this page and type in the school name, and look for their 2022 Varsity results.  I'd do it, but it's too much work. 🙂

Thanks for the info. And yeah, that site only shows if they earned their 1s at region, not what they actually played. I'm sure it'll be found out eventually though

I think you're mistaken. Texas Music Forms shows the ratings earned and also the concert programs they played for UIL. In most cases, it will be identical to their honor band programs.

Congrats to the champions! Hebron winning is no surprise at all. When a band produces twice as many all-staters as the next best group, it's not hard to see this coming!

Some interesting shifts between prelims and finals. Just goes to show that even with identical recordings a different set of brains will produce different results. Such is the subjective nature of the activity.

Don't mind me over here sporting the Pikachu surprised face at Hebron winning.

Congratulations to all of the finalist bands and to our medalists!

Matching season is just around the corner and I am pumped!

Hebron has won.  Somehow I’m not surprised at all!  What a year it’s been for them.

So happy for these kids!!! First State, breaking the 2nd place curse and now winning honor band… idk what these kids haven’t accomplished!!! They are going to big places, and it’s only going up from here! Hoping next time the go to nats they bring home the Eagle!!!

Congrats to Hebron. What an amazing year for an amazing program.

I believe this is second time Flower Mound has taken Silver. They did for sure in 2016 when my son was in the ensemble as a senior   (of course TMEA is after the seniors graduate).

And congrats to CTJ on the Bronze.

This state is just rocking it on the marching band and concert band levels.

Seemed like a foregone conclusion, but Hebron winning now makes them the first band to win Honor Band and the State Marching Band Championship in the same cycle. Not even Marcus in their 10 year stretch of dominance managed to pull that off.

Bro that’s crazy, but not surprising at all!!!

Interesting fact. Some Westfield alums might dispute it.

I believe Marcus won State Marching Contest in 2014 and named TMEA Honor Band for 2015. And Westfield the same in 88-89.

woo! congrats Hebron on a great year! BOA SA champions, UIL State Marching champions, and TMEA Honor Band! and a bajillion All-Staters! doesn't get much better than that!

Houston bands had waaay better success here than at the state marching contest. 😂😭 good for them! but it's also a weird split. more of em need to learn how to project to the back of the press box, i think. as Brett always used to say, and probably still says in his tapes, you need to imagine that sound starting at the back of the box. it's about communicating that energy and emotion, not just technical accuracy, although you need that too.
