Ridge tied with Berkner 65/65 and Berkner made it into finals with a higher general effect score 😀

show wasn’t good, neither was their run. honestly satisfying to see after having them rig other schools in 5A

They were great!  Very clean, controlled run.  Much better than their region performance.  Just think their show lacks the demand and energy of the bands they’re competing against.  Even so, I  was (slightly) surprised they did not make finals.

Their recent history at this contest indicates they don’t need the break. I don’t understand all the early season doubt. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior and Keller has been extremely consistent over the years. 😁

It’s clearly another year in Area B where someone very deserving will not be making the trip to the SMBC. May everyone have a great Finals run!

You were FANTASTIC @Dallas Hobbs . I rate you 12/12 as you had Lake Highlands, Berkner and Martin in your 3 team bubble. You cannot get any closer than that!!

Now, I am very VERY curious to see the recaps to see how close you got to the actual standings. 

BTW, quit your day job and get into Band Betting (if there is such a thing in Vegas). Well done!

Reagan Brumley (former Director of Bands at Highland Park, 2011-2020) is now in his 2nd year at LH.  He and his excellent staff are building a great program with some super-dedicated students. 

LH was 9th in Area B prelims last year.  I was able to see them perform a couple weeks ago at the Midlothian contest.  So impressive.  They seemed to be well ahead of where they were at the same time last year - and with a more demanding book.   Will be interesting to see where they finish at the Duncanville invitational.

Hahahaha! Thank you! It was a privilege to witness such proficiency from all the groups. I’m gonna do area c finals predictions too. I’m also going to BOA San Antonio finals so I’ll get to try my luck there as well.

Keller Fossil Ridge doing better than Haltom at Area is something i could never fathom back when I was in high school marching band, this area is brutal, but also evolving.
