2022 Lone Star Preview (October 8)

This annual marching contest hosted by The Woodlands HS Band is in its 22nd year of existence and will be held on Saturday, October 8 at CISD’s Woodforest Bank Stadium.  Here is the prelims schedule:

No Cy-Fair this contest, only Cypress Bands are Bridgeland and Cypress Woods, I wonder how that will go.

Saw good things from College Park, Oak Ridge, and Clear Brook from Conroe, really excited to see how this will play out!

College park had to drop.  They are dealing with a lot of kids out with flu.  Unfortunately it just was too many to try and still perform without.   
 

Spring hs dropped as well.   Not sure of their reason.

I think to me the most shocking thing is not seeing Porter making finals. They placed 6th in both 2019 and 2021.

Klein Oak's prelims perf from LSP is on the YouTube already. waaaay improved over BOA North Houston. music is much more locked in rhythmically. aaaand the guard isn't in t-shirts. hurray! i think their final placement at BOA was more just the result of having an off performance in prelims, dooming themselves to the bottom half in finals.

Good for Klein Oak for jumping up there! Thought they’d place higher at Katy but this shows they are only progressing upwards! Congrats to all!

Unfortunately, we did not. Same cut as BOA Katy but glad to see it was much cleaner this time around.

oh sorry, i meant the woodlands. if BOA Katy, i'm guessing you mean Cy-Woods? i just watched their finals performance. it was great! the ballad is so beautiful!
