Tubalord11 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Waxahachie!!! Holy crap! The first and last hit has such a loud and controlled sound, real nice impact moments! The soloist are just incredible, and they march so well! Love the theme, but wow! I don't envy those judges at all! Band4Life22 1 Quote

I have never watched anything on NFHS, but I downloaded the app to my Fire TV Stick, watching it on a 65" Samsung and have had zero issues. Clear picture and no buffering at all so far today. (I watched the 2A stuff this morning too.) Maybe it's your Internet connection? Way better than Flo, that's for sure. Band4Life22 1 Quote

TXTrumpetGuy Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Round Rock's show is such a cool design. I could see a certain DCI group running with a concept like this, albeit with more notes...Maybe a corps that has done sci-fi shows in the past... Quote
lost Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 This show is really a masterclass in subtle design. It echoes a lot of what Carmel did in 2017-2018. They have a very different playing style, but the subtlety in design is definitely there. So glad Round Rock is back. I hope we see them in Indy next year. TLozRook 1 Quote

Tubalord11 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Round Rock with probably their best run of the season! That low brass is so rich and powerful, and the concept is so cool!!! They play so well on the move, and have wonderful dynamics, and that ballad is just so powerful too! Great final run from RR!!! TLozRook 1 Quote
BecauseBand Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 I am so incredibly proud of THIS Round Rock band. That run was the cleanest, and best played performance I have seen since 2013. What a show! Congrats Dragon Band! BandmomCrew and TLozRook 2 Quote

Looking at the judges sheets, the visual judges liked them more than the music judges (apart from brass). I don’t remember their recap numbers off the top of my head but I would expect it could be reflected in Content & Design rather then Visual. But other design elements were strong so clear evidence may be hard to come by due to offsetting factors. CosmicLimbo 1 Quote
TXTrumpetGuy Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 My ears may be playing tricks on me, but it sounds like there's one Coppell lead trumpet just going for broke on these last couple of sustains, and I am absolutely here for it. Quote
slowbrass Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Are any of my fellow streamers experiencing any audio distortion? Quote
Tubalord11 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Coppell: HOW DO THEY DO THAT!!!!! That opening and closing statements sound like DCI to me!!! They play with such controlled powerful sounds, but also have plenty of softer beautiful moments! Love the music book and they move so well! What a performance! Quote
Tailgate88 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Coppell just melted some faces in the lower section of the Alamodome. Wow! Tubalord11 1 Quote
Popular Post Dallas Hobbs Posted November 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2022 I’m watching round rock’s BOA SA performance and wow I love watching big bands sound good while playing exposed, big band moments! And they maintain the cleanliness of their forms so well for such a large group. TLozRook, Tubalord11 and Nny14 3 Quote

Collective action (e-mails) and some technical advice regarding setting changes does appear to have helped improve the situation where patience alone would not have. Still, your point is not entirely without merit. Addicts denied access to their fix can be irrationally vocal. How pedantically comical! Samuel Culper 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 CTJ: Incredible Work!!! I love the preshow so much! They have a killer brass, and the vocalist were nice! Would be surprised if they don't move up some! Great job CTJ! Quote

Popular Post lost Posted November 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2022 And as always Keller has delivered at the end of the season! There’s really no room to doubt these guys with how consistent they are. AlumDad, Tubalord11 and sogeg 3 Quote
BandDad4 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 I know finals is still going on, but speaking with the kids, some band parents across a few bands that did not make it into finals. Some of them are starting to wonder what is the point of SABOA and State if its the same bands year and year out. Bias, money, and juding inconsistancy is starting to build up. Quote
