judging panel for 6a is very DCI/BOA/WGI. not used to seeing so few retired TX directors on the list. hahaha.

Just like the eight minute maximum performance time rule, the maximum ten years retired rule has been much more strictly enforced for several years now.

It was long overdue.

If finalists exactly copy paste from San Antonio, then there’ll be one free spot since Cedar Park was 5A!

Bowie placed 15th but missed state, and Leander was 16th but is 5A so that final spot is looking really competitive for the taking!

Going off of this, the first 10 bands would be:

1. Timber Creek

2. Westlake

3. Waxahachie

4. L.D. Bell (!!!)

5. Cypress Woods

6. Seven Lakes

7. Cy-Fair

8. Wylie

9. Wylie East

10. Lake Travis

All battling for one spot.

I do NOT envy the judges

I think this is the most likely outcome, I would seriously hate to be a judge at this contest but i’d love it at the same time

Goodluck to all the bands playing today. May you have your best run of the season!

This is the last competition (for most, if not all) for your show and for this years group. Enjoy it and eachother!

The stream is not good. What happened to box five or even Flo?

Its unlikely but somehow I hope we get this fixed by finals because this is doing a huge disservice to every band.

They have apparently always had first right of refusal to stream UIL state. They have just always (wisely) passed it along to other streaming services.

I watched on a Facebook/Instagram Live. They sounded and performed better than Area B Finals in my opinion.  Going first is tough, but they gave a great performance all things considered.

I just hope that instead of being buried and capped in scores by going first, they’re more of a “gatekeeper” or “bellwether” group and set the standard for performance to begin the day🔥🔥

The Woodlands went 1st in 2018 and it was just as rough. They made it in though, and I'm thinking L.D. Bell could as well.
