2022 UIL State Marching Competition NFHS streaming service issues…

Friends we need to BAND TOGETHER and ask UIL to allow the SMBC to be streamed by a service that is more Band friendly and not so much Football friendly!  Oh my goodness has the state of Texas not PROVEN to UIL that our marching bands are absolutely incredible?  This is shameful to me that a FOOTBALL streaming service is allowed first right of refusal over services like Box5 or FloMarching who SPECIALIZE in streaming marching bands!  I’m so aggravated by this. It’s an insult to our great marching bands, honestly. They deserve better. 

Having said all that, PLEASE direct your streaming complaints directly to music@uiltexas.org. Please, please, please!!!!

Dave609 has uploaded a lot of NFHS videos over the past few hours. I decided to watch the Vandegrift finals high cam. The video and audio quality were both horrendous. I've seen fan-recorded videos from the mid-2000s that look and sound better than the product NFHS is putting out. I could be somewhat forgiving of the poor quality if this was an independent startup, but this is getting backed by a multi-billion-dollar entertainment conglomerate.

Unless some hero got past the no recording policy, I don't expect any footage from UIL State to appear on "best of 2022" compilation videos.

An all-around embarrassment for the UIL.

I would agree, looking at the multi-cam for Brook was just the pit taking over everything that I can just hear them and barely any of the battery and winds. Shame on NFHS. The recording that was given by the band directors appeared to be better than the stream.
