11BandMan11 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I CANT WAIT to see everyone deep dive into the scores and have all the spicy takes on judging the next 24 hours! Congratulations to all the Finalist performing bands for putting on such a ridiculous display of artistry and musicianship tonight! Be thankful and happy that the fine arts and music is being supported and can produce nights like tonight! GOODNIGHT Y'ALL! JazzRun and Dallas Hobbs 2 Quote

Popular Post tubapop Posted November 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 12, 2023 I really don't understand how that Avon show outdoes hebron or Carmel, but whatever. Bladezz, BandNerdier, nightlife and 1 other 4 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 Wow, some shocking results to say the least. HUGE congratulations to Avon though, very well deserved, and to Hebron for once again getting 3rd and winning music, don't worry, 4th times the charm😉 Now we wait for recaps and then bedtime Quote
Bladezz Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 At least Hebron is consistent... now we wait 4 more years for the streak to continue Quote
MikeKyu Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 Avon, what a season! I have been obsessed with Pictures at an Exhibition since 1986. I have seen it played live in 4 different countries, 12 venues, and now in a Grand Nationals Championship performance. Well earned Avon. What a show!! JazzRun 1 Quote

BandKid_2 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 what’s the esprit de corps awards? and the tournament of roses mean they preform at half time at the rose bowl game? Quote

Expand Tournament of Roses means they get an invitation to march in the parade. Esprit de Corps is simply to the band whose students, volunteers and representatives present the most sportsmanship throughout the competition. CTJ won this in 2019! Quote
BandFan59 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 Hebron's placed third with the music caption at all three of their Grand Nationals appearances. Certainly impressive and a feat worth applauding! While I thoroughly enjoyed their show this year, I do feel that 2021 and 2022 were probably stronger productions, albeit not by much. Congratulations to all the bands! itsstephenyo 1 Quote

I think it’s insanely impressive how clean they did get it APersonFromABand 1 Quote

Congratulations to all the bands! Expand Firmly believe their 2021 show would have won at GN had they have gone that year. That show was a powerhouse all season and would have really shaken up the national competition. Wish they would go to Nats every two years or so but its a huge financial hurdle for them and the kids. syntop1c Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I wish they could alternate where grand nats was hosted. Do Lucas oil one year then do somewhere in the south the next, and just go back and forth. Would make it a lot less of a burden financially for the southern bands. Parkwoodmom 1 Quote
LivLikLarry Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 Former Pearland alum here, my cousin is currently in the Pearland Band. I’ve heard it may be possible since they are on an upwards trajectory in placements relating to state they could be returning to Grand Nats next year. Wondering how true this is and whether any current Pearland Band parents hear this? Quote
