Wow Holly Springs...I think I just shed a tear. that show was just unbelievable! so much emotion, and the talent in that group was unbelievable! everyone is just on fire tonight!

CLEAR BROOK JUST ABSOLUETLY KILLED IT!!!! There was one somewhat major drop at the beginning, which hopefully doesn't hurt them enough from taking the gold, of course we still have DB but my goodness, the gave it their all! Incredible season for Clear Brook!

Yeah no, I'm sorry but Dobbins is going to win! First time watching that show and my god, they are just flawless seeming! Great story and just wonderful, incredible talent all around! but at this point, idk what's gonna happen! Congrats to all the guards in class A who competed tonight!

Dobyns-Bennett was so good. I would be shocked if they don’t win. Kindof surprised they weren’t one of the groups promoted earlier in the season.

Clear Brook was of course great too. Definitely ready for Open Class!

There were an awful lot of guards in that back half of the A group that had me thinking, "Is this really an A guard?!" There were just so many talented groups, and they seemed to feature an awful lot of above-class skills.

Some of my favorites included Walton, Salem, Franklin, Clear Brook, and Dobyns-Bennett. Clear Brook gave a great performance, clearly stronger in my opinion than the two preceding them, so I'm hoping they're safe for a medal.

Dobyns-Bennet was just spectacularly good -- one of the best A class shows I've ever seen. It's just filled to the brim with personality, and irony, too. Who would think to do Celine Dion music for a show like this? It's sophisticated camp. The reveal (and romancing) of Frankenstein was hysterically funny. The only thing that gives me pause is that a lot of it really seemed above class. The speed, just the sheer fluency of the performers was remarkable. And that entire line of traveling tosses at the end? Holy cow! But I suppose the very top of the class should look at least a little like an Open guard. Err... a lot like an Open guard, I guess. 😄

LETS GO CLEAR BROOK!!!! Also, congratulations to rock hill and SLC! thought they should have scored/placed higher, but an incredible season for both regardless! now we wait for top 3! also, congrats to the member of Round Rock who won the scholarship!

Congrats to Glory Independent and ORIGINS Open for making Independent Open Finals! ORIGINS was only 0.1 point away from 3rd place in semifinals. Hope they're able to move up after finals!

Absolutely agree with you. Insanely good. I was thrilled I saw it live in semifinals earlier today because I sat down low and it was in the Nutter center which is more cozy and close feeling. I was absolutely blown away. DB totally deserves that win and would easily have made finals in the Open Class this season as well.

I believe so! Leander had the record back in 2017 but I am pretty sure this is higher.

Dobyns-Bennett one of my favorite shows and finals runs since I started watching. Magical.  They’ll fit right in Open.  
 

Franklin had an incredible finals run, and that Holly Springs show was magical.  The Magnolia Project in IA stole my heart too.  Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Well, that's a massive number for DB. But yeah, not unexpected. The 3+ point gap is a little, uh, concerning. But regardless of whether this was a properly classed guard, I loved the show.

Congrats to Clear Brook on that silver medal! That's FANTASTIC.

And I'm also happy Franklin jumped up to 3rd. They would have been my pick for 3rd as well.

I loved it too but will agree with you on the show itself being far beyond the sheets for Scholastic A.

I am up to watch some Scholastic Open Finalist Guards!

SOMERSET!!! ACADEMY!!! Completely nailed it. Nobody is touching that. 

Mt. Carmel also totally nailed their show. So clean! It’s such a cool show. They only have 10 members but have such a strong presence.

Also loved both Milford and Centerville. Very different shows, both equally as emotionally powerful. Not perfect performances from either but I think Milford should hold onto the bronze just based on the score gap in semis.

I'm gonna get a lot of hate for saying this, but I thought Mt. Carmel was much more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, Somerset Academy did awesome, but I was not fully into the show as I was with Mt. Carmel.
