TexDad23 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Not looking forward to the fireworks from the nearby festival starting at 10p. It was a bummer when they went off during Reagan last year (I think that’s who was on the field). Quote

Tubalord11 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 MARCUS IS NOT PLAYING AROUND, THEY WANT THE WIN!!! Other that one minor saber drop, I don't think that run could have been much if any better!! That quad feature is just on another level, such rich and mature sounds from their brass, visuals/drill was very clean....guys, I think they might do it! Only thing possibly hurting them is having to go first in the top half, but that run has left me speechless, wonderful job Marcus!! Quote
Origin Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Absolutely incredible run from Marcus. Perfection. Would love to see them win the whole thing, but the performance time is unfortunate. Nny14 1 Quote

Popular Post Rubisco Posted November 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2023 Alright, alright, alright, Marcus! The mask of gentility has been removed, and they're letting it rip. This has got to be the most aggressive Marcus show I've seen. I think it suits them well, especially when they retain that wonderful elegance and beautiful tonality throughout the ballad! And that percussion feature was absolutely insane! Wonderful work by the guard as well. I bet they'll do very well in Dayton this winter season! CloudFuel Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 I didn't catch Marcus during prelims, but I can absolutely see why they won GE. The combination of staging, visual design, and musicality was truly spectacular. What a show! Nny14 1 Quote

Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted November 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2023 ROUSE HOUSE BABY!!! Congratulations on not only making it back to finals but being in the top half for the first time!!! Just such a wonderful show, with wonderful and amazing sounds, great guard, just love this show to death! I will be honest, I don't think it was their best run, not to say it was bad by any means, but I think they've got a better final run at state. Could be and hope it is, but I just heard a couple uncharacteristic sounds from the brass ensemble a couple times, but still they blew me away with the volume and rich sounds they can create! The kids are performing this show at such a high level, and I'm so happy to see them continuing to find more successes in their already super accomplished season, amazing job Rouse!! 11BandMan11, ChristopherRoden and TXguy512 3 Quote

MikeKyu Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Rouse's students perform the show expertly. I appreciate the precision and artistry. I do not like the design. Every impactful musical moment the section that is carrying the sound is not moving. I think that's cheesing the system. Not the student's fault but a design decision. It is performed extremely well and Van Doren did an an amazing job designing the show. But it could be better!!! ElectricTuba 1 Quote
BandFan50 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 I hope the fireworks at 10p don't affect Vandegrift and TWHS tonight Quote

Tubalord11 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Great performance from Ronald Regan! The show is a bit hard for me to read design wise, and some missed notes by some of the bottom part trumpets ( I think?) but otherwise a great performance! Guard is great and massive as always, some really intriguing drill, and great ensemble sounds, great job Regan! Quote

Dallas Hobbs Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 That eighth note followed by two 16th note figure in the opener is one of my favorite parts of Reagan’s show. I just love the potent, dark sound the brass demonstrates throughout all of that. They time it so perfectly and do a good job at making each note clear. And that Mello high C sustain towards the end of it!😩🔥🔥 Tubalord11 1 Quote
Rubisco Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Wow! Reagan just made a major statement. Their drill writer is a master of what I call "hang on the wall" beautiful drill. Gorgeously ramose! And while Vandegrift may be known for their dance team, Reagan's maybe impresses me a little more. They were fantastic! Guard did great, too. Another one to watch out for at WGI. Also, random, I know, but I loved their hair! 😂 Tubalord11 1 Quote
Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted November 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2023 Also, forget to mention earlier, but it warmed my heart seeing the FE member with special needs from Leander getting to play and jam out with the band!
