2023 BOA San Antonio Super Regional (Nov. 3 & 4)

WAY TO GO BLUE RAIDER BAND!!! They've got me in tears..... I remember when I saw the name for their show, I was a bit worried, but boy was I wrong, THIS SHOW IS INCREDIBLE!!!! Tons of VGE throughout the show with the many different formations of dots, soloist were on fire, guard was great, love their music book, this show is definitely one of my favorites of the year, and I'm so happy they made finals, definitely showed us why they were top half, I mean wow L.D. Bell, thank you so much for giving us that wonderful show to enjoy, and congratulations on an amazing season and a fantastic finals run!!!

Wow LD Bell!! Such an emotional and beautiful show!! Love how “reset,” the quintessential band word, is conveyed by them ending their show in the same set as the beginning! And everyone bought in, electric run for sure. WOW!

BOA San Antonio might as well be called Grand Nationals - the depth at the contest is RIDICULOUS compared to every other BOA Contest in the country, especially when watching these finals performances. So. Freaking. Good.

The show is focused on the art of pointillism, combining Georges Seurat's painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte and Stephen Sondheim's musical, Sunday in the Park with George.

Great performance from LD Bell, and what an improvement they've made! From 22nd last year to a top half finish. Just goes to show you a lot can change in just 1 season!

It’s based on the pointillism painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jette” and they put dots everywhere! On the costumes, on the flags, on the props, and in the drill! It’s also about the journey of growing as a performer

LD Bell was a complete delight. I loved the costuming, the set pieces, the staging, the music, all of it. I also love that we're seeing more and more top high school bands that are directed by women! ❤️

Vista Ridge just blew me away! Nearly gave me a heart attack with that opening statement. Unbelievable sounds coming out of those instruments! It's like listening to a top drum corps!

VISTA FREAKING RIDGE!!! That's how you finish the season ranger band!!! Drill was so freaking clean, opening hit is SO powerful, guard is great, and that percussion is such a beast!!! I love this show so much, getting to hear so many different musical selections, and that ballad just tugs at my heart, one of my favorites of this season BY FAR, great job Ranger band!!!

No kidding! I'd love to see BOASA move to a Prelims > Semis > Finals system. The depth in this event is UNREAL.

Vista Ridge has one of the coolest / most fun shows I've ever seen! I would have been absolutely stoked to perform a show like that. Killer job all around!

pretty sure they were waiting to see if the fireworks would cause an issue.  There was a BOA person with a radio next to the VHS director. He stayed out there until they were about to start.
