Tubalord11 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 WOW....Vandergrift does not want to lose that 1st place spot!! I will admit, I don't know if that music performance overall was a winning run. Some stick outs at certain moments, but visually, SO CLEAN, will most likely take visual!! Dance team is just WOW, soloist were on fire as always, really love the little Basson and Trombone duet, just such massive, rich ensemble sounds, but idk, Marcus really wasn't playing around tonight, it's gonna be really close, plus we still have TW, but either way, a great way to end the season, amazing job Viper band and Vison Dance Company!! Popular Post Hard Core Band Fan Posted November 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2023 Thanks, Box5, for the commercials at the beginning of Vandegrift! I predict a complete failure like last year during the Grand Nationals. They just do not care. BandDad4, Parkwoodmom and clarinote 3 Quote

Tubalord11 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 HELLO WOODLANDS!!!!! Absolutely blown away by that show, they are looking REALLY dangerous, I'd start to worry if I was a potential/most likely GN's finalist, because that was amazing! Should easily win visual IMO, great shot at taking the W, will be very close between the top 3! Guar is INCREDIBLE, as always, great musical book and just such a interesting show concept, and they execute the heck out of it, amazing job Woodlands! Quote
Popular Post HeBron James Posted November 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2023 Ok guys I think I’ve cracked the code this time. Rubisco Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 My battery was about to die. What a fantastic way to end the night! Vandegrift and The Woodlands both killed it! Vandegrift is just so powerful musically, never a wimpy moment in that show! So clean and expressive, too. The Woodlands is visually masterful and continues to redefine what a top visual program in Texas looks like. Great job! Tubalord11 1 Quote

Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted November 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2023 Well everyone, that's a rap on finals! SO many amazing performances from such talented bands, but with it being over, here are my predictions for finals. I didn't get to watch CTJ, RR or Westlake, so I'm placing them based on what ya'll posted about them/other season results and kind of guessing, I'll do a reasoning post below, but here's my guess: 1st. Marcus (music/GE) 2nd. The Woodlands (visual) 3rd. Vandergrift 4th. Vista Ridge 5th. Rouse 6th. L.D. Bell 7th. Ronald Regan 8th. Bridgeland 9th. Cedar Park 10th. Wakeland 11th. Round Rock (didn't watch) 12th. Leander 13th. CTJ (didn't watch) 14th. Westlake (didn't watch) I'd say Marcus, TW and Vandy all have solid shots at winning. I think Marcus will take music, TW visual, and the winner GE. I think Bell will surprise people, and tbh, I could see them ever so slightly taking Rouse. Regan could be higher, and I wouldn't be surprised if my bottom half preds were completely mixed up, but I'm guessing it will look something like this, could honestly see a tie for some of the captions, can't wait for results. And for the bands who finished their competitive seasons here, THANK YOU for allowing us to be embraced, entertained, amazed, but be but into many forms of shock, awe, disbelief, and many more emotions. I'd say that 2023 has been if not the best year of high school marching band. It's really hard too top 2019, but I think this year may do it, especially after GN's. It's been amazing getting to see so many of these programs experience new and even their highest levels of successes (yes Bridgeland, I'm looking at you 😉) in program history. It's been amazing seeing these shows develop over the past few months, and I can't believe next week will be the end, I feel like it all just started last week. Ik we had some programs not experience the successes they were used to, but don't let this year bring you down. Come back next year stronger than ever and prove why this year was just a fluke, and that your better than the results showed. I can't wait for next year, and congratulations to all of the bands who competed over these past two days!!! Parkwoodmom, ChristopherRoden and Gehrig4 2 1 Quote
