I personally felt the opposite except with Vandy. Everyone sounded great, snd we had a lot of programs do better here than ever before.

their show seems more boring than previous years

THANK YOU!! where did you find it though?

Just an FYI for those who don't know. You can find these recaps on the music for all website the night of the competition or early morning after. The horn rank ones that are nicely ordered and organized are the ones that tend to take longer. Back when I was in High School these less organized recaps were the only ones available.

Rock "torched" again in finals lol. i just like pretending imma disgruntled Cavaliers DCPer.

I remember Torchia scoring us really well one show in Visual GE and staff actually played the tape. Unfortunate that high school bands tend to have judges they can’t crack as well.

I'm excited about Vista Ridge's result here.  3rd is their highest finish at this contest and they have a nice track record in recent years of improving relative to the bands in front of them when they get to San Antonio.

  2022
  Austin San Antonio
Vandegrift 1 4
Cedar Ridge 2 9
Cedar Park 3 10
Vista Ridge 4 5

  2021

Vandegrift 1 2
Leander 2 4

I think this is absolutely the case where the kids are concerned.

The parents are another story.

In my experience, the more involved the parents are, the more likely they are to be very supportive of ALL bands and all band kids. They root hardest for their school, of course, but also root hard for sister schools and genuinely are excited for everyone's success.

The less involved parents seem more likely to engage in the bad-mouthing of other bands.

I think being involved and seeing just how much it takes to bring a competitive show to life makes you appreciate the hard work ALL of these kids put in.

THIS!!
