Tubalord11 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Wow College Park!!! What a performance to finish up the first block! I see why the won music at Conroe, great sounds all around, love me some "There's no place like home" from Lost, very reminiscent of Crown 2014. Drill was very clean, great curves throuhgout the show, guard was killer and soloist were fantastic. Great job CP!! Quote

Not that the temperature is going to get too much warmer today. So glad I'm in the dome all day AWF2014 1 Quote

Tubalord11 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 For those who saw Timber Creek, how'd they do? One of my roommates marched there and was wanting to know how they did, ya'll think they have a good shot at finals? Hoping the early performance time doesn't kill their scores. JWork 1 Quote
DeadMascot Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Can someone please tell me how Alexander did when they go on? I’m extremely excited to hear how they perform Quote

I would NOT want to be a music judge at this contest. 😬 The high cam isn't bad. Unlike Box 5, the picture is clear on my phone and likely HD quality. Sound is good, too. The only thing is that the frame rate looks ever so slightly below 24 frames per second, if 24 fps is what "real life" looks like. Not that bad, though, just ever so slightly slowed down. Hopefully they at least maintain this quality. I'm sure multi-cam is more frustrating with the choice of shots they make. I watched high cam for a couple of bands and multicam for a couple. They’re both good. I’m pretty impressed with the streaming so far, but I have nothing to compare it to since I have only watched competitions on Box5 so far. This is my first experience with this network. Quote

A finalist contender for sure. I don't think it was their best performance, but really proud of them. I love that ballad. Reminds me of The Leftovers series from HBO. Watched the live steam, I bet they sounded incredible live. Tubalord11 and balumni2023 2 Quote

They actually warmed up inside. Everyone was still talking about Ronald Reagan when Klein oak went. Did anyone see them? Thoughts? Quote

Did anyone see them? Thoughts? Klein Oak was one of the visually cleanest of the morning block, in my opinion. Very, very well performed! That show has grown on me a LOT since Conroe! Im wondering how much the rain has affected the instruments. Many of these bands have been performing in rain lately. Quote

Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted October 30, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2023 WOW WOW WOW L.D. BELL!!!!! I think we are looking at a state finalist! From the opening hit right to the end, the musical performance was incredible!! The Flute and Clarinet Soloist were phenomenal the entire show, very big and rich brass sound, woodwinds were also incredible! Drill was SUPER clean, tons of emphesis on the "dot" formation, with all the circels being so so clean. I mean WOW, one of my favorite shows of the year. Wonderful job Blue Raider Band!! crunchycookie3 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 WOW LD Bell…. what a beautiful show!! Minor tuning in the soloists at the beginning, but as soon as the full band came in, they cemented their place in the top of that finals bubble, if not locked in-just my opinion. Well done! balumni2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 I was watching Bell through NFHS, and despite the stream being a little lacking, I thought they had a really great run and I'm so proud of them as an alumni. Very likely in the finalist bubble. JazzRun 1 Quote
Rubisco Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Yeah, I heard the tuning in the soloists at the beginning, too, but overall LD Bell was great. It's so nice to see them pushing their way back into the upper echelon! College Park sounded great, too. The music really draws you in, with that trumpet duet. Sorry, I'm very in and out of the stream at the moment. Quote
J-Mike16 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Could someone let me know how North Shore does tonight at 8:45pm when they perform? They are my dark horse to make Finals. TXguy512 and vacon3` 2 Quote
