UIL 6A Area C 2023

Area C is probably the strongest at the top which means fewer spots for anyone else to make it to state, but area B is deeper which means lots of deserving bands with not enough spots to give to them all.

Well, I know if you post a video on YouTube, it will probably get taken down because Hebron doesn't allow videos of them until the end of the season. Maybe you could still see them if the game is being livestreamed but idk.

From halftime at the game:

- Both Wylie & Hebron were in their warm weather attire; no props; each performed about 4 minutes of their respective shows. 
 

- Wylie’s theme: Eye of the Beholder. Looks like they have a great start & should be as competitive in Area C as last year. They have some really good soloists, a talented guard, and a promising show design. 
 

- Hebron’s theme: Monomyth, a hero’s journey. They are already sounding so clean while playing tough music & moving a LOT. Expect a phenomenal show out of them this year.

Really like the overall draw order! Each block when we get to Area will be filled with great bands! Just hoping the times won't effect groups who have to perform really early, such as McKinney Boyd, Sachse, and Plano East.

Boyd hasnt ever had issues with early performance times in all honesty, plus not having to wait for any bands and being able to go at their own pace will actually benefit them more. Boyd, Hebron, and Sachse also have such a long time before finals that they will have their chops back completely, will be a very exciting year for this area!

I really think everyone is sleeping on heath this year. I know historically they've never placed very high but their show this year is pretty good. I'm not saying they'll make state and they might not even make finals, but I definitely think that they have a shot at making finals

I wouldn’t rank sachse that low,they pretty much get stuck in finals and got 4th in finals in 2021 and advanced to state,but that’s just what I think

I can see them placing higher for sure, but in my opinion I see them low finals, recently they haven't been as good as back in 2021, and they have plenty to clean before area, not bad at all I just personally see them lower, again take my word with a grain of salt😂

I really hope Prosper makes state with their show this year. They have a Texas themed show this year and they are literally dressed up as Texans. But they have had a heartbreak for 2 years in a row now, with them losing to Boyd by a tiebreaker. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.

This is my probably last prediction as these are the weeks that will decide placement, so I want this to be a proper prediction for me if possible:

8. Braswell
9. Rock Hill

I think Boyd and Prosper have really stepped up this year and will be fighting for the 4th spot, I think Boyd can win due to the nature of UIL with Boyd being very clean in the marching and visual department (which their closer really shows off), and could frankly see Prosper at 4th too, Wylie and Wylie East have gotten better since last year, but they arent very far off from last year which Boyd and Prosper are aiming to well surpass themselves every year, so I believe they will sit either below 5th and/or the 4th spot depending on how clean they are. Braswell has shown more strength this year and could maybe beat Rock Hill, but I need to see something more recent from Rock Hill before saying anything, and the bottom 10-12 can be completely random with the next 4 or 5 bands honestly

It’s one for every 5 that qualify for area.  So if 28 make area only 5 go to state. At 30 in area there will be 6 again.

I always misread “Heath” as “health” so I read this as “I really think everyone is sleeping on health” this year and was a little concerned lol

I went to the Region 2 UIL 6A contest today, and as usual, Hebron was absolutely insane, but a part from that the two best groups were, in my opinion, Braswell and Lewisville.

After seeing Prosper, there’s no way they don’t not make state. I doubt Plano west will, East might, and McKinney Boyd will most likely make it to state as well.

Prosper will be top 4. I would replace Sachse with Rockwall who has placed hire them two straight weekend in BOA prelims (neither made finals, so there’s that). I can see Lewisville going higher and Heath jumping to 12.
