Edit: Well with the edition of Lone Star, I don't see anyone else beating them. I wonder how else may be coming here now that Little Elm got canceled. I'd love to see the whole lineup come here, I know that Golden Triangle in Denton is also on this day, but it's now even better. New Preds:

The real fight will be for the last couple of spots for finals. I could possibly see Mineola taking it, but it won’t be easy too. Probably will be another top 4A band unless Naaman Forest shows up, don’t know anything about the program but being a 6A bands at comps like this seems to help most of the time, so I could also see them take it. should be a very good competition! C

welp, we have your 2023 Melissa Marching showcase champion right there lol, let me just change my preds real quick. 

Do you know why Little Elm was cancelled? Ik historically it wasn't always the most stacked comp but it still tended to draw in some really good bands like Lone Star, Centennial, MN last year. maybe just not enough people singed up for it to be reasonable to have the comp.

Yeah it’s been a strong lineup since at least 2019, and idk why they cancelled, it was announced just this morning that they’re going to Melissa

You have to remember that September 23rd is historically very early in the marching season. A lot of programs in the DFW area (especially the bigger ones) probably wouldn't be ready to start competition until the next week.

Also, two additional competitions are scheduled within the same vicinity that day. Melissa (to be fair they completely booked that competition) mostly consists of smaller bands that wouldn't draw in much in terms of attendance and concession sales, but LE still misses out on the registration fee. I suspect many of the bigger programs that choose to compete this early elected for the Golden Triangle Classic, possibly due to a lower registration fee or easier access (LE's stadium is 20 minutes off of the DNT).

NICE!!! This contest is actually shaping up really nice! We've got some very good 5a/6a programs/ and tons of the best from the 3a/4a schools!

Oddly enough, Lonestar wasn't actually a state finalist in 2021. Although many thought they should've been. 

Regardless of that, I expect a Lonestar sweep.

So, Lonestar is not the same Lone Star from Frisco? Lone Star from Frisco was a 2021 State Finalist but they did not make it to the evening Finals.

No it’s the same, and Frisco Lonestar was a finalist in 2019 for 5A, not 2021. they were 4 our placing 16th behind Roma, Wylie East and Lebanon Trail. And making the evening finals is the same as being a state finalist, only the top 12 advanced in 2021

we in fact did not make finals in 2021, we got 16th. we made finals in 2019

All I know for finals right now is that Whitewright opens up Finals since they were the only 2A program to be at this contest. Has anyone gotten word on who else made finals?
