Guest Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I believe the finalists will be largely the same with Pieper thrown in somewhere Quote
Tubalord11 Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Early preds would be Henny winning against, with Hays and Mcallum in 2nd/3rd. Would love to see some new finalist like Pieper or LASA Coolhornplayer 1 Quote
ReveriesOp24 Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Wondering if the Belton bands will make finals this time? Even after Belton HS went to 5A they still seem to be very strong Quote

fluteyboi Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this area. Last year 22 bands competed in this area and if it's around the same amount competing this year we could see 4 bands making it this year. The top 3 seem pretty obvious with Hendrickson, Hays, and McCallum, but 4th place is a wildcard. I could see Georgetown, Comal Canyon, and the 2 Belton schools competing for this spot. roundrockhorn Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Biased opinion here, but don't sleep on Georgetown East View this year. I have a feeling. Quote

Bandmanio Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Looks like there will be 25 bands at Area D this year with 5 advancing to State. Quote

fluteyboi Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 So with 25 bands competing at Area, that means 5 bands will represent Area D at State. Really opens the door for a lot of potential state qualifiers. Here's how I would rank currently: State Locks: Hendrickson, Jack C. Hays, McCallum State Bubble: Georgetown, Lake Belton, Canyon, Seguin, Smithson Valley Area Finalists: Belton, MacArthur, LASA, Alamo Heights, Pflugerville Then again I could be entirely wrong. Any given competition! Quote

Pieper IMO should be a lock for state. They've had an amazing season, getting 2nd at BOA McAllen and winning a Usbands comp. I could personally see them in the top 3 over Hays or McCallum. Top 8 are my solid ones while the last two are a guess as of now, need to do some more research. Here's my predictions for this one: 1st. Hendrickson 2nd. McCallum 3rd. Jack C. Hays 4th. Pieper 5th. Lake Belton/Georgetown 6th. Georgetown/Lake Belton 7th. Pflugerville 8th. Belton 9th. Seguin 10th. Smithson Valley Quote

Oh wow how did I forget about Pieper. Yeah I could see them being in the run for state, it just depends how the other bands clean up during this next week. It would be very hard for me to see them not make it to state. Quote
ReveriesOp24 Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Honorable mention to Killeen ISD for finally sending all bands to area after Idek how many years TheTromboneK1NG 1 Quote

I looked at their marching festival results and they’ve beaten: Georgetown (5A) Weiss (6A) Brandeis (6A) Sandra Day O’Connor (6A) Taft (6A) Hutto (6A) New Braunfels (6A) Quote
