It has well thought out show theme, the show is told across the entire time. The opener was good, ballad, and closer were not my favorite parts the closer feels like an extension of the ballad, but I cannot judge too far. There are bands in their area that are better than them and worse than them. They need get super clean clean in their week before area for a realistic chance at area finals, but in my opinion they might not make it, respectfully with the lineup of area this year not just because of their program. I agree the opener is the strongest part along with the sax quartet. Ballad and closer just aren’t musically interesting. From the last time I heard them I don’t think they’re making finals either. Thank you for telling me your opinion of how they did! I appreciate it, I wasn’t able to make it out to this contest.

Also, so many good bands in this area that have brilliant shows that deserve to make finals I agree

Feel for Lovejoy. These bands are such well oiled machines its hard to see how this happens. To me, to warrant a drop in rating it should be egregious. I heard 2 seconds for Lovejoy. Thats not egregious. Do we really think if one of the Big Dogs in 6A went over by 2 seconds the raters/officials would have the cahonies to drop them. Can you IMAGINE the uproar

That's just the Area intent. That's just all the bands who would go to Area if they got a 1. Now, they take out all the bands who did not advance to then make a schedule.
