bluebellbrass07 Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 video.google.com type in santa clara vanguard, click on 1992, enjoy. just skip to the end if you wanna see the bottle dance. does anyone else think that show shouldve gotten higher than 7th place, or am i the only one that absolutley loves this show??? AndrewPCarr Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 77 Bridgemen 78 SCV 84 Garfield 86 BD 86 Spirit 87 Bluecoats 93 Star 98 SCV 99 Madison 99 SCV 00 BD 05 Bluecoats 92 SCV is good stuff for sure. Not necessarily clean in a lot of places, but a "fun" show to listen too. I think their placement was accurate. I think I figured out their problem though. The years they spell things out (i.e. '92 - "SCV", '05 - "USSR" "CCCP") they drop in the rankings -a Quote

AndrewPCarr Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 yup, must be opposite for them. obviously not spelling a word this year cost them the championship...should have spelled "Ladders". Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 they shouldve spelled out, go red sox, after the baseball thing...that might have been a little tough to do though. Quote

I can see where the judges were coming for when they put that show 7th. There were a TON of good shows that year. SCV 1992 is still my favorite drum corps show of all time though, I don't care what place it got. Quote

euro_euph06 Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 Friday (Tomorrow) @ 6:00 P.M. Central Time Results of the 2006 DCI Classic Countdown!!!! Who will win the overall vote? Is it the 1995 Madison Scout's high and loud sound to capture the title or will 1993 Star of Indiana's finesse take it away? Or can an underdog come out of no where (2000 Cavaliers? 1984 Garfield Cadets? or even the 2005 Bluecoats?) and hold the bragging rights over everyone else? Can't wait!!!!!!! Quote
thesnareguy Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 i really want 96 regiment and blue devils to win and 2003 bd. dont think thatll happen Quote
AndrewPCarr Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 you're partially correct in thinking those corps won't make it, primarily because phantom 96 was on it last year as for 96 and 03 BD, who knows! good shows though. Quote
mbui Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 QUOTE (thesnareguy @ Feb 16 2006, 07:54 PM) i really want 96 regiment and blue devils to win and 2003 bd. dont think thatll happen 1996 Phantom Regiment is ineligible to participate in this year's DCI Classic Countdown because it was already on it last year. Edit: Woops, it was already mentioned. Quote

Three of my votes: 1984 Cadets, 1989 Phantom Regiment, and 1993 Star of Indiana made it. I am really suprised that 1995 Madison Scouts did not make it. Though there is always next year. But there is still a twist in the process. Maybe there is going to be a wildcard or we get to vote for the number one corps out these twelve. We will not know until March 3. Should be a great show!!! See you at the movie theater. Quote
CHS King Mello Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 meh. not overly excited about it... I wish Suncoast Sound would have gotten in. -C Quote

mbui Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I must say, I love it. I'm a bit sad that the 1995 Madison Scouts didn't make it. But, oh well. Some of my favorite shows made up half of the list.... 1989 Phantom Regiment 1992 Crossmen (People aren't really familiar with this show since it placed sixth. A MUST SEE. 1993 Star of Indiana 1995 Cavaliers 1999 Santa Clara Vanguard 2004 Carolina Crown 2005 Bluecoats Quote
