wilson07 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 well, recently we have all seen the explosion of on-stage musicals turn into movies. which one are your favorites??? my would definately have to be RENT because it was such a good portrayal from the stage to the movie. the music was fantastic and i bought the soundtrack right after i saw the movie. on the onther hand, i did not like the movie form of Phantom of the Opera. yes, it was still amazingly good and creepy, but it just wasn't the same as watching it on stage. (kinda like when you go to DCI World Championships and then you order the DVDs and its just like... whatever.) Quote
TRtrumpet Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 I like Phantom of the Opera the most. Quote
bariphonium Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Same, my vote goes to Phantom. I've seen it live, and while a live performance is (IMHO) better, I still think the movie is done very well. But I have to admit, it irks me that they changed the reason for the face deformation. Quote
coolest_kid_ever Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 i love the phantom movie but i agree nothing beats seeing it on stage Quote
TRtrumpet Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I had a chance to see it on stage like 4 years ago but that was before I was a band nerd and I didnt wanna go. Man how could I have been so stupid! So my mom took my uncle. Quote
