Nancy08 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I'm in NHS and IB on top of band which takes up anytime you might have left over. Luckily there are like 23 IB students and almost half are in band, so I'm not alone... I was also in Key Club for a short time and want to get involved in FCA, but i don't have time during marching season. Oh, plus I'll be in the pit for the school musical too, but that's not till later... Wow, no wonder im so stressed... Quote
HHSBaSsTrOmBoNe'09 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 ZOMG theres something outside of band?!?! j/k after home football games we'll sometimes start a little thing of catch (football that is) and wow... movies and.... (wow just realized almost everything has band peole involved in it or its band related...) Quote
whitewing09 Posted October 25, 2006 Author Posted October 25, 2006 ya i really have no life during marching season. i havent gone to the movies in like a month and i used to go every weekend Quote
HHSHorn Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 as a response to band being easy, frankly, it is. I've played three other sports and marching band has got to be the saddest excuse for an athletic credit I've ever heard of. (even though I love it) Quote
whitewing09 Posted October 27, 2006 Author Posted October 27, 2006 Hey its not that easy... and it takes up a considerable amount of time Quote

(even though I love it) i strongly agree... even though i recieve an athletic credit for marching band i still take P.E. because i feel that i am cheating the school system by taking the easy way out of taking an athletic class... people wonder why our children keep getting fatter and fatter. i'll tell you why... its cuz we have rules that let them... Quote
TRtrumpet Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 You don't have to take P.E though. If you don't wanna get fat or out of shape or whatever just work out. P.E in our school is NOTHING. They do less physical activity than the band does. Quote
Salesmonkey Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 If you dont wanna get fat make the personal choice to eat healthier and get in shape. Its not the schools or the governments jobs to make kids skinnier. Waste of taxpayers money. Quote
whitewing09 Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 same here P.E is nothing all they do is sit around and listen to music they dont do anything at all. i bet we get more excersize in our warm up then they do in the whole period Quote
Arabella Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Aegis Fang said: lol, we deserve the crap that we get. Our football team (Clemens) was first in the area going into the playoffs (anyone from madison, stay out of my thread =p), and yet the band, with our BEST performance of the year, got 46th out of 58(?). So our band sucks compared to our sports. But our athletes are powerfully full of themselves. We're in the opposite situation. We have not won a single game this football season, but our band has been getting increasingly good since we got our new director 4 years ago. (I wasn't here.) Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 we have an ok band. and a somewhat exeptional football team Quote
stewiemylove Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 uh when marching band is over i become a lazyass Quote

TRtrumpet Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yeah, our band is kinda getting back up there too. Our football team is also doing ALOT better this year. Quote
Drummer Chick Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'm one of those crazy overinvolved kids, we have a lot of those in our band, but anyways, I'm in School band (duh) and Select choir and the show choir, I sing in my church choir, and play in the church handbell choir, band, and orchestra, I'm a Scout, I'm in Venture Crew, I'm in NJHS, I do Academic UIL (science and calculator), I'm in Beta Club and Leo Club (service organizations), and somehow, I'm still passing all of my classes. Sleep is a hobby, and coffee is an addiction, but I enjoy all of it! Quote

whitewing09 Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 calculators is fun!!! im not too good i got like 7th.. or something which sux cuz i focused on it more then anything else that year lol ya our band had a huge wake up call at area and it really really sux Quote
t3hZm4n Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I play soccer, hang out with friends a lot, post on a bunch of different forums, torture a certain other user on this forum (>_>) and stuff like that. Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 there will be no torturing on this premesise or whatever! jk Quote

Yeah, I have a friend who's in band, football, UIL, and debate (all at the same time) and he seems like he never has time to breathe... it kinda seems like he's goin insane at times. Seriously. Our last game was Friday . Marching season is over for me. I guess now it's boring concert season and tennis & basketball practice. Quote
Nancy08 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I like concert season...but only cause I play bassoon. I really wish I could play tennis but 1) it conflicts too much with band and 2) I have WAY too much else going on... Quote
Drummer Chick Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Yeah, I really wanted to take theatre, or maybe even dance, but there is absolutely no possible way to add anything else into my schedule. (see my previous post, I'm not listing them all again) Quote
