A question for you Euph's and Trombones

I was wondering, if I wanted to start learning one of these insturments what would be the correct size to start on. Like I know trumpets start on 7C when their begginers so what size do I need to buy for euph/trombone if im a begginer.

In sixth grade I started on a BACH 6 1/2 AL. As for trombone, I don't know

you dont' need to know, just stick with the trumpet ;-)

The 6 1/2 AL is probably the best mouthpiece to start off on, and usually, the mouthpieces are interchangable between trombones and baritones/euphoniums. If you have both instruments available, take a mouthpiece and try it on one, then the other. TMEA anyone? You'll probably be able to find more than enough mouthpieces there, with instruments to match. Just make sure you know whether you want a small-bore or large-bore mouthpiece.

 

On another note, switch. Trumpets are horrible. Euphs rock. Trust me, I've done it.

But french horns are better, just so you know.

haha thanks to everyone who responded, lol. I got a 6 1/2 cus that seems to be the one everyone suggested.

 

 

Yea I cant wait to become part of the low brass next year. Well I still have to ask but I dont see why my director wouldent let me. We have like 7 trumepts already and a low brass section that doesent even play...
