thesnareguy Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Does anyone speak Arabic? I am wanting to know what they say in the BlueCoats 2005 show. Since the show is "Arabic", i would think they are saying something in Arabic. Quote
Danpod Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Essentially, the vocals are just a Middle Eastern version of what we call "Drum Talk"(Example: The Cadets 2005 drum break). The words don't mean anything, but they are just emulating the sound of the tabla drum when it is hit a certain way. Quote
thesnareguy Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Oh! That's what I thought at first... Quote
AndrewPCarr Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 and it's actually Indian Being part of the hornline, I don't know the whole story. But, I believe after hearing the drum guys talk about it a couple times, the tabla speak is actually how they teach someone how to play the tabla drum, learning the sounds vocally first. Quote
